Glimpses…Seen, Felt and Imagined
Sue Russell usually works in series’, pursuing the path of a single idea in many iterations. Lately, she follows spurts of energy, engrossing moments and occasional nonsense. These paintings are vignettes of life and short stories of thoughts. They are glimpses.
I Paint Music
I listen to music when I paint. It gives me the confidence to persevere when I am doubting myself. It’s a powerful influence. When I sketch musicians, I seek the moment when the music, the musician and the movement become one.

Marks & Emotions
A simple mark; a shape, a line, a color can tell a story, make a statement, pass judgement, communicate powerful feelings. A mark can speak without words. Combining marks, lines, shapes and colors in a composition to express emotion is engaging. The three mixed media collage images below are available through: www.artworksonc.org.

Per client request, these favorites are available as archival prints.
